Visualization: Area Charts

Learn about INSIA's Area Chart Visualization feature.

Updated over a week ago

Area charts help you visualize data when only one dimension is applied to a metric. It is one of the easiest chart visualizations to get a quick glimpse of your data.

For example, if you're looking to find sales by different campaigns; You would type in 'Sales by Campaign Details' where Sales is a metric and Campaign Details is your dimension.

Note: This is on sample sales data. We don't set any taxonomies and INSIA will only read column names from your data. If you call 'Sales' as 'Revenue', 'Revenue' will show on the search bar. You can find the sample data by going to the top right corner of the platform and switching to 'Demo Mode'. There you can select 'Sales' to see a similar visualization as below.

The Area chart will present Sales (Metric) on the Y-axis and Campaign Details (Dimension) on the X-axis (as shown in the image below).

โ€‹Tip: You can also perform a drill-down, set alerts, and generate an automated i360 report on an Area chart.
