The bar charts are one of the most popular charts used to present data. The bar chart represents the change in a metric’s values.

The bar charts are one of the most popular charts used to present data. The bar chart represents the change in a metric’s values.

For example, if you need to find the spending by different business units; you would type - 'Spend by Business Unit Level 1'. The bar chart shows the Spend (metric) on the X-axis and the Business Unit Level 1 (dimension) on the Y-axis. And for each data group, it displays a horizontal bar. The longer the bar, the higher the value.

Note: This is on sample procurement data. We don't set any taxonomies and INSIA will only read column names from your data. If you call 'Spend' as 'Expense', 'Expense' will show on the search bar. You can find the sample data by going to the top right corner of the platform and switching to 'Demo Mode'. There you can select 'Procurement' to see a similar visualization as below.

INSIA does not set the bar chart as a default chart for any combination, it works side by side with the column chart, word cloud, pie chart, and line chart. So if the platform takes up the default charts to present data, you can always change it to a bar chart. It allows all additional features such as drill-down, i360 report, and alerts.
